Where do we use discounts and credits in eeemails

question for @zac + @Emilie: ivan and i are looking at an overview of our current discounts + credits. in what emails do we offer discounts or credits (and what is our best bet of tracking that the credits/discounts came from a particular email)?

Emilie Murphy [2:19 PM] Early discount blasts:

  • Email 1: 50% off yearly plans
  • Email 2: 40% off yearly plans
  • Email 3: 30% off yearly plans

Late discount blasts:

  • Email 1: 40% off yearly
  • Email 2: 50% off yearly
  • Email 3: 50% off yearly

Renewal Reminder emails:

  • 50% off biennial
  • 50% off yearly

Failed Payment emails:

  • 1 month free
  • 2 months free
  • 3 months free (edited)

Zac Wickstrom 😎 [2:20 PM] discount_blasts_v2 funnel, first email tag in that funnel is discount_blasts_v2_0 which is attached to a UserMailHistory as mail_type.

user_mailer.rb line 74 (also 114, but phasing out) deals with the creation of a UserNotification (which points to a SubscriptionDiscount) from an email same file line 87 (and 127 I know not dry yet) deals with assignment of user credit from email (edited)

Emilie Murphy [2:22 PM] Also BigCommerce Free trial funnel offers 30% off yearly and 50% off yearly (edited)

Zac Wickstrom 😎 [2:23 PM] UserNotifications will have the email tag as it's name property so we have a papertrail from emails to discounts.

We don't for UserCredits atm, I suggest we powr hour a fix for this by adding a credit_type to UserCredits pointing to the email

Emilie Murphy [2:25 PM] Credits currently not offered in any email links (only through referral prog)
