Change premium_status on production, staging, and Wix

PRODUCTION:

You must be logged in as an admin on powr.io to do the following.

Option 1: Change premium_status of app​

This is the best option if you just quickly want to test a specific upgraded feature in one app without affecting the user's premium status.

How?

  1. Go to /standalone for the app you want to change
  2. Click on "Admin" in the top bar
  3. Select the level (Free, Premium, Pro, Enterprise)
  4. Wait for the page to refresh.

Option 2: Free Trial​

This is the best option if you need to test pricing or multiple apps where it's more convenient to change the status on an account-wide level.

How?

  1. Go to https://www.powr.io/admin/tech_support_helper
  2. Search for the user you want to upgrade
  3. Click "Create Free Trial"
  4. Enter any number of days and select the level (Free, Premium, Pro, Enterprise)

Option 3: Purchase an upgrade​

  1. Go to https://www.powr.io/admin/tech_support_helper
  2. Search for the user you want to upgrade
  3. Click "Assign Credit"
  4. Enter any amount < 50 (but big enough that an upgrade of your preferred level will be $0)
  5. Log into the account of the user that now has credit
  6. Go to any pricing table and purchase the upgrade with a real credit card or PayPal account.
  7. Remember to cancel the upgrade after you are done testing so you won't get charged after your credit expires.

STAGING:

Option 1 and 2 work the same on staging and alpha and can be used there.

Option 3 requires fewer steps because we have a sandbox environment set up:

  1. Go to any pricing table and purchase the upgrade with a FAKE credit card (4242) or the sandbox PayPal account (no login required).

WIX:

Use Option 2 from above (Free Trial) to change your premium status in Wix.

Option 1 (Changing the premium_status of an app) will not work because we cross-reference the premium status with what we get from Wix, then load the settings according to the Wix details. This causes the admin premium_status to be overwritten as soon as the settings are loaded.

Option 3 (Purchase an upgrade) will also not work because Wix handles the payment and discounts and credits enabled on powr.io will not affect Wix upgrades.
