Aigul and Kelsey: font awesome, icons, svg Heys guys, I have been thinking about our approach of using svg graphics as icons. But this approach lacks in the following ways: 1) Usually when svg is loaded into DOM, it loads asynchronously. Depending the size of SVGs, loading time might vary. Moreover, when it is being loaded, nothing is shown on the page. This issue worsens overall user experience. 2) If we use SVGs as icons extensively in the project, in the long term it becomes hard to manage which svg file is being used in which place. I would to suggest that we looked into direction of compiling svgs as icons and creating our custom font that can be used though out the project. The custom font will include all the icons and can be added to our style guide. To summarize we would create our fontawesome alternative that will include only custom icons that our designers create. There is a free service for generating fonts (css and ttf) from uploaded SVGs for that named http://fontello.com/. I would like to know your opinions about this idea.
