Updating listings

The process is fairly simple and straightforward. You can find all of the current Joomla app images, copy, etc. in Google Drive, here.

Master POWr>Platforms>Joomla.

Note: Updating the listings makes us surface more prominently in the app store, so I recommend making a minor update to each listing once a month.

Go to Joomla and login: Username: POWr Password: t0themax Note: you should also have access to the login info via LastPass

Once you’ve logged in, select the _Extensions _tab--this will take you to our plugins.

Now, find the plugin you wish to update and select Edit.

This will open another window where you can make any needed edits to the selected plugin.

Updating Copy

To update the copy, simply click into the text box and make your updates.

IMPORTANT: Before you make any copy changes, they must be approved and proofread by other members of the marketing team.

Always write out copy in a google doc before updating the listing.

IMPORTANT: Make sure to copy and save the previous copy in case your update doesn’t have the desired impact and you need to re-use the old copy.

  • Note that Joomla’s editor is jank AF. It’s not easy to achieve attractive or cohesive formatting 😑.
  • Once you’ve finished updating the copy, scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save.

Note: You can also update the Tags associated with the plugin--be sure to have your suggested tags approved by the other members of the marketing team prior to updating. Take time to check out similar competitor plugins and what tags they’re using.

Updating Images

Note: All images are 960x420 px -- but, Joomla photo rendering is jank AF, so it’s difficult to create an attractive screenshot/banner.

If you are updating the images, you’ll want to access the PSD file in Google Drive, here.

IMPORTANT: make sure to add any updated images to Google Drive in the Joomla Apps folder, here. Instead of deleting the old images, create new folder called Old Screenshots, and add them there.

Once you’ve finished working with the images in the PSD file, add the updated version to Drive in the PSD folder, here. To update the primary/banner image, you’ll want to scroll down to the section labelled, *Logo, and add it there.

Note: You’ll need to delete the previous image before you can add a new one.

Note: This part is jank and kind of shitty because if you only want to update a single image, you won’t be able to tell which image you need to delete because Joomla renames the image files for some weird reason. Because of this, you’ll need to delete all of the images and re-add them along with your new image 🙄.

Once you finish updating the images, select Save.

Note: I suggest checking out the listing after you save to make sure everything looks correct.

Well done 👏! You updated a Joomla listing! Be proud of yourself 😊, do a victory dance 💃, eat an ice cream 🍦, tame a dragon 🐉. You’re unstoppable. 🙌
